My name is CARLYN, but FRIENDS call me CAR
I am a dreamer, a lover, a mother and a creative. I grew up cottaging in the north among the tall pines and rocky shorelines. Muskoka has been my home all of my life. Iāve spent countless hours walking through the forest, submerging myself in lakes, listening to the water and the wind move around me. So much of your photographic experience comes from my life and the years Iāve spent exploring these parts.
I am a natural light photographer who documents intimate and real moments. I provide timeless story telling for all humans who are adventurous and carefree. Each experience I have with all of you strengthens the love I have for connection and individuality, and genuinely makes me a better creative capturing honest moments exactly as they are.
My husband and I have built a life, near Parry Sound, Ontario. We have a boy named Callum, and a little girl named Maryn. We have two rescue dogs, Tripp and Huxley who always keep life interesting. We live on his grandmothers land, making her home our own. One day we will build our dream home on Georgian Bay, and soak in every sunset there.
I live in the north, but I am always eager to travel and explore new places.
Nostalgia & Legacy
This is a story close to my heart. Meet Lenny and Hume aka Leonard and Hume.
My grandfathers, the men who have so much to do with who I am today, I never had the chance to meet these two, they were gone long before I arrived but the stories are plentiful, and packed full of meaning and emotion. Both hard working, small business owners who were creatives themselves. One an architect, the other a stamp maker and printer.
My whole life I have heard countless stories of who these men were, their meaning and presence to so many. As a little girl I would look at old photographs and imagine what life was like, envisioning my grandfathers working long hours in their offices, coming home to their young families, loving my parents before I knew them, shaping them into the amazing parents who raised me. My imagination is what brought my grandfathers to life for me. If only I could tell them the impact they've had, if I could only share in my successes with them. Nothing makes me more proud to carry on my grandfathers legacies through this business of mine. So much heart and soul goes into my art, preserving moments for children like myself, to bring their family to life, to let legacies live on through the classic and timeless imagery I capture.
